Is Chingle Hall really the most haunted house in England? The home has been around since the 12th century, during the period of the Crusades. The locals believe it to be haunted by monks dressed in cowls, a former owner named Margaret, who is referred to as the 'Grey Lady'. Other entities are believed to haunt the location, including a young girl who was physically abused by her two uncles and gave birth to many children who were either murdered or burned to death by the uncles. The young girl is referred to as, 'Miss Singleton', and is reported to haunt the house with sadness and desolation.

Chingle Hall was built on ley-lines which are crossroads of magnetic lines running beneath the earth's surface. Scientists believe such fault lines produce electro-magnetic fields which attract supernatural phenomenon.

A radio producer claims to have seen a cowled monk who appeared solid until he gradually disappeared into thin air, a boilerman recounts his strange experiences when he came to Chingle Hall to install a boiler, and a historian tells of her own experiences encountering the ghostly vision of a cowled monk. There's also a sad account of a young girl who happened to be one of the last in her family line to inherit the hall.
